Okay, for this one, we’re going just inspirational – I’ll recommend some substitute items below!

In this Outfit:

Tank: linQ
Jeans: 7 For All Mankind
Sweater: Missoni for Target
Shoes: Bloch

Instead of the sweater… try a bohemian headband or scarf from The LA Look x Missoni.
Instead of the shoes… we love the silvery wedges from Diane von Furstenberg.

We love the tank and jeans already just as they are, but here are some other white jeans that we also recommend:

- AG Jeans Stilt (a cropped skinny)
- True Religion Serena (a legging-style jean)
- 7 For All Mankind Kimmie Bootcut (a curvier fit that still rocks the white!)
-  Hudson Signature Bootcut (a great basic cut in white)

How would you wear this look?

Love,
JP

In this outfit:

Jeans: Paige Verdugo Legging in Paige Blue
Top: Fluxus Pocket Tee
Shoes: Bloch Flats
Bracelet (try a similar charm bracelet!)

I loved rocking a dressier outfit with these Paige jeans, but they feel like they’re born and bred for the beachside. That’s why they’re paired with these lighter looks, letting the jeans stand out on their own.

Some style tips for this summer:

- Lighten up – and loosen up! – your look by tightly rolling your jeans at the ankles. These are lightweight, so it’s easy to keep them cuffed up.
- Don’t want to wear flats? Try some espadrille wedges, like Chinese Laundry’s Milk Shake Wedges or a pair of Wood Wedges from Tory Birch.
- Transition this look to evenings with a cute cardigan, like this Cashmere Cardi from J. Crew – something that adds layers but not too much weight.
- This look can work with any colored jeans! Some of my favorites? Mother Denim’s Looker in Jade, 7FAM’s Gwenevere in Mint and Paige Verdugo in Winkle.

Love this look? Let us know!

JP

Denim Outfit Inspiration: Summer Shorts

by Jaime on April 11, 2012

Whether you’re heading to Coachella this year, or just looking to spice up your wardrobe, the next few days will give you some great tips on how to wear your favorite pieces a little differently this Summer 2012!

What’s in this Outfit:

Shorts: 7 For All Mankind
Shirt: Collective Clothing (try this crop top instead!)
Shoes: Bloch
Bracelets: Amrita Singh
Sunglasses: Tom Ford

How to wear your shorts for 2012:

- Pair with a croptop for an off-the runway look.
- Avoid heels and shorts. Wedges? Okay, we’ll let those slide in. But your five inch hooker heels really look trashy with the shorts combo.
- Accessorize with glam basics, like a perfect set of bangles (I love my Amrita Singh ones above!) or a cute, slouchy bag.
- Don’t go too short with your shorts – keep your inseam at 2″ or longer.
- I love cuffed denim, especially for shorts. The cuff means that the edge of your shorts won’t be pressed against your thigh, so not only are they more comfortable, they actually make you look thinner.

What are your plans for wearing shorts this summer?

Love,
JP

I’ve gotten quite a few comments from people at Vault Denim promoting their own parties, but I’ve heard very little about the company from outsiders who have actually participated in a party themselves.

Have you been to a Vault Denim party?

We’d love to hear about your experience! Here are a few questions that readers have emailed in, as well as a few of my own:

- What brands are included in the Vault Denim selection?
– How is the size range?
– How much do they cost?
– Are they carrying authentic designer denim brands at Vault Denim parties?
– Did your jeans last?
– Would you host a Vault Denim party again?

Their website is very vague about a lot of details – and if they’re buying from boutiques and reselling, I’d wonder if you’re getting used jeans or pairs that are not first quality. Those are all pretty big warning signs to me.

I’ll keep the comments active – let us know about your experiences!

Love,
JP
