Sandy sent me these photos (and details) about her new DL1961 Samantha Slim Straight jeans – I think you’re going to die over the color, and this is the perfect fit after Hayley’s “food denim” post!

I LOVE this color!  I kept hemming and hawing over buying them, seeing them on different sites, and finally I just went and did it and I’m glad I did.  They are GORGY in person!

They’re a size 28, which is odd since I normally would wear a 29 for something so slim in the leg, but these fit pretty well.  I think the inseam is a 31 – could be a little shorter – no cuffing on my 5’8″ frame.

The fabric is heavier and you can feel the stretch in them; definitely not something I would wear in warmer weather, or in humid Chicago conditions.  My skin has to be “right” for them, otherwise they would itch because they hug the skin, so it’s likely I wouldn’t wear them to work because my job is sedentary and I’m in a chair most of the day.

How’s that face for you? It says a lot about how I feel about these pants. I was so conflicted for two reasons:

- Who dyes a pair of pants like this?
- Why couldn’t they be less comfortable?

Because I have to admit it, these things are crazy soft. You’ve seen me rocking Denimocracy before – I love their pants. They arefascinatingly soft and legging-y, but not unflattering or inappropriate. I’ve literally worn my first pair so much that they’ve about died on me – tons of tiny little holes are starting to crop up. But considering how much I’ve worn them in the past three years, I’d say they were worth their weight in… well, in denim!

And these are the same soft deliciousness. But until I dye them myself, they’re staying on the shelf – it’s just not my style.

Maybe they’ll be a good pair to test my dyeing prowess on!
