Recently, we asked for stories about how people found their first pair of premium denim… each of us has a story, and it’s always a blast to hear them all! To kick the series off we have Tara from Goodwin PR and her oh-so-lovely story about her first pair: Hudson Jeans! Check it out below and enjoy.
Before I met Steve Simon and his daughter Jill, owners of National Jean Company in Newton, MA, I hadn’t even heard the term “premium denim”. My go-to jeans were three very worn pairs of boyfriend jeans from Tommy Hilfiger. They were comfortable and covered my middle-aged muffin top quite well. Although I did appreciate the jean ads in the high fashion magazines, I always thought they were too trendy for me, and were constructed for young 20-something waif-like models who subsisted on water and the occasional wheat thin.
Jill took a quick look at me and picked out three pairs of Hudsons and all three fit beautifully. Although I wanted to go with the one that was cut higher on my mid-section, Jill convinced me that the shorter pair actually fit my body better.
Turns out she was right. The jeans make me look thinner, the taper makes my legs look tiny and the softness of the fabric feels fantastic. One of the women who works for Hudson Jeans was in the store while I was there and she told me that her 65-year old mother owns 15 pairs.
Tommy – it was great while it lasted but I’ve got a new boyfriend and his name is Hudson.
