Retro Denim Love: Paula’s 7 For All Mankind Flares

by Jaime on May 2, 2011

Despite JP tempting me (bad Jaime) with the awesome deals at last weekend’s ideeli Red Sales, (I am still crying over that leather jacket), I have been, as of late, attempting to curb my shopping free for all. Nothing too drastic, mind you, I’m not crazy (although some may argue that point). Anyway, one of my strategies has been to take up treasure hunting again.

Treasure Hunting: The act of looking for hidden gems in Thrift, Vintage, and Consignment stores – especially when one has limited financial resources.

Now, I am not exactly sure how shopping curbs shopping (nonetheless I’m rollin’ with it). What I do know however, is that back in the day, as a struggling performer needing cool duds, I had a tremendous amount of fun and success trolling through racks of junk looking for abandoned prizes.

Ok – so here is the point of my ramblings down memory lane (there is one, I swear). All this vintage treasure hunting got me jonesing for a pair of this season’s hottie – the denim flare. Which, to be honest, kinda like huge shoulder pads, was a returning trend I wasn’t sure I could embrace. But all of a sudden, hippy chick awakened and I had to have a pair.

Lucky for my shopping resolve, I was able to score a pair of 7 For All Mankind mid-rise skinny flares from for $45. I wish I could tell you exactly which cut and wash they are, but Yoox – being description challenged – has left me at a loss. What I can say is they are pretty awesome and I am ready for my summer of love…

And, while we’re at it: my dream flare!

Do you like the retro/70s look that’s so popular right now?

Love the 70′s flare. I bought 3 pairs of J Brand and wear them all the time in Vegas or to go out. Those 7FAM are way cute too!
