Hayley’s Denim Review: Habitual Jeans

by Hayley on March 30, 2011

These are my newest jeans, the Habitual Alice Skinny in Eventide Redux. First off, the fit: I’ve worn these jeans several times already and they’ve stretched out a bit. I have them in my true size and if you’re in between sizes I would recommend sizing down. The fabric content is 70% cotton, 30% polyester, which explains why this pair is so stretchy. They’re really comfortable and the fabric isn’t stiff, so it moves with you. They’re a little long on me and I’m wearing them stacked in the pictures, but I’ve also worn them cuffed. This pair would be easy to hem, which I will eventually end up doing.

Habitual Jeans’s signature Maltese cross detail is on the back pockets and on the coin pocket. I surprisingly like them. Usually I like my back pockets absolutely clean, but I like these because they’re pretty, and it doesn’t scream the brand as if there were big ass H’s on the pockets. The Maltese cross is more symbolic. Plus it helps that there’s no contrast stitching anywhere on the jeans.

Rise: 8”
Inseam: 33”
Leg Opening: 6”

The wash is my favorite aspect of these jeans. I love dark denim because of their versatility. They’re really dark with a sheen to them, which makes it very easy to go from casual daytime wear (or even from work) to a night out. The wash is slimming and there’s no whiskering or distressing, which gives these jeans a classic feel. I’ve already gotten several compliments on these jeans, so they’re definitely a keeper!
