Berlin, Germany – January 20, 2011 – LA-based denim giant GUESS presented its Fall/Winter 2011 collections forthe first time in a catwalk show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and on the occasion of the Bread & Butter tradeshow. The Kraftwerk Mitte, located in the heart of the German fashion capital, became the strikingbackdrop for a magnificent post-show dinner and party hosted by founders and owners of the company Paul and Maurice Marciano, and was transformed into a mecca of iconic black & white photographs and eye-catching moving images, chronicling GUESS right up to the current S/S 2011 season. From Estelle Lefebure, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell, to Eva Herzigova and Anna Nicole Smith and many more such as Carré Otis, Carla Bruni, Karen Mulder, Alessandra Ambrosio, Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron, Laetitia Casta and Adriana Lima, GUESS hasbeen responsible for propelling many now eminent faces, to stardom.
Famed for changing the perception of denim back in the early 1980s, GUESS created a line that was sensuous, innovative and timeless, and continues to remain a hugely admired industry leader. The coming Fall/Winter 2011 season brings a return “Back to the Roots” of GUESS. Sexy iconic styles return from the archives with key, vintagepieces in up-dated volumes and cuts. An alchemy of deep indigo, sexy fits and authentic washes. The winter arrives and a “Traveler” theme offers many cultures and different styles, mixed for a unique and personal look.
Contrasts of military versus romance, new with vintage, and casual with elegant, blend and harmonize resulting in timeless denimand fashion apparel, perfect for journeys across continents in “Railroad Diaries” and exploration in less traveled climes such as the “Northern Passages”.
