Blogger Update: JP is a Car Killer

by Jaime on February 26, 2011

Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook already know this, but for those of you who don’t - I obviously have a gift for destroying cars. That’s the only thing that could explain this really.

I got the opportunity (which you’ll hear MUCH more about later) to meet with Agave designers Jeff and Lauren Shafer down in Ridgefield, WA yesterday. I can tell you right now – you guys are going to be seriously, SERIOUSLY impressed with their Fall 2011 collection. I got to try on a couple of pieces and I practically died. Look out for some amazing cords, a to-die-for velvet legging (sounds strange, I know, but it works perfectly) and the best Bomber Jacket you’ve ever seen. No joke.

After I saw the collection, Jeff and I headed down to Portland where we got to spend some time at Blake (with the namesake himself). The store was positively amazing and Blake was everything I was told he’d be… I might have even learned a thing or two about denim fitting! It was a perfect first introduction to the city, so a big thanks to Jeff and Blake for that one.

Then, on my way back, I decided to do this to my car:

While I have been basking in the irony that my headlight still works (it’s kind of magical, really), I found out this afternoon that the car is absolutely shot. It’s totaled, once again proving that I am exactly as graceful as I say. Seriously, you guys should have believed me by now.

Thanks to all of you who sent your well wishes over on Facebook – you’re the best. I promise that I’m totally fine physically (hey, a car wreck isn’t going to fix all that emotional crap. Be more patient…. patienter? Ugh, who knows!) and the website won’t be all traumatized because I am a crappy driver.

Really though, I honestly thought I was just a crappy parker. Maybe that’s what I’m saddest about – my newfound lack of driving skills. Maybe ignorance – and less broken car – is bliss.

So, yeah. Big thanks to all who come here for denim-y bits and are willing to read this kind of stuff instead. Doubly big thanks to those who read and buy stuff through the site – you’ll be helping me pay for my new (most definitely used) car. In the interrim, I’m willing to pretty much do whatever you’d like – within some pretty realistic reasons, guys – to help get this rolling.

Always wanted to see me in a pair of tie-dyed denim? Hoping I’d wear a pair of harem pants? Want to watch a video of me singing “My Heart Will Go On” PERFECTLY ON KEY? Let’s make this happen.

Because shame is for wussies.

Love,
JP

Well, you lost your car but kept your humor… I would say you are still ahead of the game (but, just in case, better take extra care when crossing crosswalks…)!! Can’t wait to get a peek at that bomber jacket.

It’s funny – I genuinely thought of you when I saw that bomber, as well as another sweater that they made. You’ll understand why when they show up on the site…. they’re so you. :)

I demand a video of you singing “My Heart Will Go On” while you’re wearing tie-dyed harem pants.

You know, for someone who just got a ton of clothes out of me, you sure are feisty! ;)

Thank you again for the lovely flowers, Hayls!
