Hayley’s Radcliffe Denim Review

by Hayley on January 9, 2011

Say hello to the most unique pair of jeans I own right now, the Radcliffe Soho in Liverpool!

Judging from this pair alone, I think Radcliffe does a fantastic job paying attention to detail. The most obvious aspect of these jeans are the diagonal seams that create panels at the sides that  go down the front, which make me think of pleating on trouser cuts. The wash is a bright, clean blue that I really like. The double button closure is a nice touch; it’s not hard to unbutton quickly when the need arises like I imagined. The ankle zips are on the inseam and not the outseam like I see on many zippered jeans. Most of the edges on the inside are trimmed with a white fabric, giving it a clean, finished look that reminds me of selvedge denim. The rivets and fly buttons have the same fox logo on it, which is also stamped on the back waistband of the jeans. I like when a brand is consistent with branding and logos. I’ve included pictures of all these details below.

Rise: 8″
Inseam: 28″
Leg opening: 12″
Fabric Content: 98% cotton 2% elastane

These fit true to size for me. They stretch a bit to conform to my shape, but they don’t bag out. The inseam is perfect. As any short person can attest, it’s hard to find a pair of jeans with ankle zips that aren’t too long, because they can’t be stacked or cuffed like regular skinny or straight jeans. I like the back pockets, they’re really simple. There’s no unnecessary stitching or embellishments on these jeans, which I find great because that way the focus goes to the little details in the actual construction of the pair.

I will probably get myself another pair of Radcliffe denim, and I highly recommend them. There’s a whole slew of Radcliffe jeans on 6pm.com right now that are only $19.95! I bought mine from 6pm. If you own some Radcliffe denim already, do you love yours as much as I love mine?
