Reader Reviews: Buffalo David Bitton Denim

by Jaime on June 11, 2010

Renae from WLS Fashionista was gracious enough to respond to my call on Facebook (don’t like DenimDebutante.com on Facebook yet? What are you waiting for?!?!) for a little review of Buffalo David Bitton denim. I’ve never tried the line and they were on Rue La La yesterday… so I figured that if I didn’t know how they fit, maybe you didn’t either.

Here’s what she had to say:

I had a pair of Buffalo David Bitton Jeans that I got back in late 2008, when I was a size 30/31.  I got them in the 31 because I was ordering online, but I wanted to play it safe.  They were a bootcut jean in a medium wash with an 7.5″ rise and a 32″ inseam.  I learned that I should have gone with the 30 as soon as I received them, but I got a lot of wear out of them before I went down in size again significantly (28/29, occasionally a 27) and they were a pair that was no longer presentable in public.

I hadn’t gotten another pair of them until I ordered a pair of cigarette jeans (Felow in Galaxy) yesterday on the Rue La La sale.  I went true-to-size/larger true size and ordered them in a 29 because of them being a skinny jean.  I always order up on those because of my leg size.  I am excited about this pair and the $39 + shipping price tag on them.  I would definitely recommend this brand for their trendy style, great fit, and great price tag, even at retail!

You can get Buffalo David Bitton for Men at DJPremium.com and for women at Overstock.com.

I bought two pairs sometime in 2008 as well..also a boot cut. I tried one pair on, liked them and grabbed another to buy two (didn’t try the second pair). Well one pair is bigger than the other so I should have tried both! Hey I have a toddler and I was in a hurry. The denim is a very lightweight. They came in a short length so I can wear them with flip flops. The rise is higher making them “safe” to wear to teach or with a shorter length shirt. That one pair that is bigger though the rise is too long and the crotch hangs a bit. I still grab these to wear occasionally. If it’s warm or I just want to be casual with flip flops they are great. They are true to size but maybe a smidge on the roomy side but for me not enough to size down. I am tempted to try another pair…one with a heavier weight denim to hold in better. The price is fantastic on the sample sales too!

Jaime~

Thanks for posting my review! It’s appreciated and I’m glad to post more on brands you aren’t familiar with yourself. I have an eclectic collection of denim lol.

I know the feeling of having kids and being rushed a lot of times. I have 2 under the age of 5 and a deployed spouse. Internet shopping has become my new hobby because it’s easier, but I miss my Buckle and Nordstrom =

I have purchased 3 pairs of Buffalo denim jeans. I bought one pair that I liked, so bought 2 more a couple weeks later. Within the first 20 minutes of wearing them, they ripped up the seam. On the second pair, the button fell off within 2 weeks. The original pair I bought lasted a little longer, approximately 3 months of wearing them once a week before the button fell off and the belt loops came off. I was washing them on a gentle cycle and never putting them in the dryer. The closest place that carries their jeans is a 2 hour drive away, so I emailed customer service. So far, it has been 6 months since my first attempt to contact them, and still no response. These jeans are poorly made, for close to $100 they should last more than a whole lot longer and have a customer service center that responds.

This is a horrible company to do busssiness with. Ordered several pairs of jeans just to be stuck in shipping mode. Have made several attempts to contact. I have been unsuccessful. Such a shame!
