Here’s my little anecdotal story about Bivouac: when I was celebrating a fairly tumultuous 19th birthday, I knew I needed to get myself something good. It had been a hard couple of months.
So, I went into Bivouac and fell in love with a pair of Juicy Couture flares. They were my birthday gift to me, and I still have them to this day.
What does this have to do with Bivouac? Well… nothing, really. But the store is still fantastic and worth telling fun little stories about. My favorite part about it? Their denim selection!
The entire upstairs section is devoted to their denim. Racks, shelves and tables are overflowing with beautiful indigo (and that’s not including their selection of J Brand Houlihans, shorts and more that are still downstairs) of fantastic brands like DL1961, 7 For All Mankind, SOLD Design Lab, Mavi, J Brand and many MANY more.
I do have to say that the place is usually pretty quiet upstairs. I’ll run into a person or two, but you pretty much can roam around on your own, find the best pairs for you and still get some assistance from a helpful staff member. After spending time chatting with Stephanie, the manager at Bivouac, I was absolutely comfortable sending anyone I knew in there, because the girl definitely knew her denim.
Downsides? Well, you won’t find any crazily marked down denim (though I did spot a few pairs over 50% off retail!), but the store offers enough selection so you don’t have to worry about your roommate wearing the same pair of denim when you’re going out on Main Street.
Check out Bivouac online (for those of you not in Ann Arbor, like me!). Have you been to Bivouac before? Leave a comment about your experiences… I’d love to hear your stories!
