Denim Review: Charley 5.0 Park n’ Ride Denim Parka

by Jaime on June 25, 2010

I love this jacket from Charley 5.0! It’s slimming and waist defining; the denim is as soft as terrycloth and the wash is just gorgeous. It’s the perfect accessory for summer because the sleeves roll up to wear outside but can unsnap the tabs and roll them down for any super air conditioned buildings you’re probably being subjected to (just like me)!

The detailing is excellent: the pockets are slim and streamlined, so they won’t add bulk to your figure. The collar is a double snap similar to a motorcycle jacket. The stitching and cord that falls at the waist are a coppery bronze shade that matches with the metal accents and allows the jacket to be worn tied.

This is a great ‘starter’ denim jacket for those of you who are unsure about wearing this trend – it can be worn with anything (I even wore it with denim shorts!) and it’s tailored, rather than bulky like the denim jackets of the 80′s.

The best part is the lived-in look that the wash gives you: like yeah, this old thing that happens to be incredibly gorgeous and trendy? I’ve had it for years, just waiting to make me a trendsetter.

Despite denim jackets being the ‘it’ thing, I don’t think a jacket that’s this versatile will ever go out of style, and I’ll certainly be wearing mine in the years to come. Also.. keep your eyes peeled for a special Charley 5.0 giveaway coming up next week!!
