I know we have a celebrity site for this very purpose – so you don’t have to look at celebrities unless you really want to – but since we were just talking DIY shorts, I thought this was a great fit.
Recently, Katy Perry was filming a video for her “California Gurls” single. Whatever, who cares. But, what we DO care about are those freaking amazing, Swarovski crystals that bedazzled her butt.
I was watching Katy Perry’s music video (I can count on fingerless hands how many times I’ve said those words before. I’m blaming the shorts. Anyways…) and really thought these amazing shorts didn’t get enough play.
Think you’re up to the task of this DIY? Johnny Wujek, Katy Perry’s personal stylist, covered the shorts with more than 7,000 two-tone jewels. Talk about work.

The Diesel Mintha Short in 008b3 (available for $160 at Ssense.com). Am I the only one who finds it kind of ironic that they chose an Italian brand when there are tons of Cali-based denim lines to select from?
