Pure Blue Japan: Wood Button Jacket

by Jaime on May 22, 2010

Here’s a denim jacket I can get behind – it’s not your run of the mill jean jacket, but an incredibly vibrant blue mandarin collar piece, exquisitely tailored with cedar toggles. More of a denim statement!

We all know Pure Blue Japan for their amazing denim and the most beautiful indigo dye. Mostly for men though, but if you’ve been following what this label is doing lately, you will find that they also do amazing denim for women and unisex tops.

The Wood button Jacket is made out of 100% cotton light weight denim. Amazing detail like the wood buttons (detachable for washing), the stripe on the cuffs and collar and of course, the indigo leaf signature of PBJ. It’s available in 4 sizes and comes in Sulphur Blue.

What do you think about the look of this item? It’s got a retro, almost nautical look to it that is really enticing, but I’m not sure everyone can wear it.

Okay, the fact that it comes in only 4 sizes almost certainly precludes me from owning it, sadly. I wish brands would offer a more standard size range.

The jacket is part of the SS10 collection and is made upon request. In Europe, PBJ is exclusively available at the Okiya, Denim & Garment Gallery.

Let us know what you think!
