Denim Shorts for Summer 2010: Ksubi

by Jaime on April 17, 2010

Sure, they may have filed the Australian equivalent of Chapter 11… but so did Rock & Republic, and it’s not like they’ve dropped off the earth! Lucky for us, they’re still being sold across the US.

These are the Ksubi Albuquerque Shorts in Dusted Copy. Atrium carries them in their NYC and Miami stores (it’s about time they got an online shop, though… hint hint!) and they are definitely going to be a big hit for this summer. Why? Here are my top three reasons:

1. Exposed Pockets: I know, they’re not for everyone, but they are big. And they kind of grow on you (I really, REALLY hated them till I got my pair of 7 For All Mankind shorts… and now I’m excited about it). Definitely a look for the under-30 set, though.

2. Distressed Denim: This isn’t a new trend, but it will be holding strong throughout the summer. And Ksubi is one of those brands who pretty much always gets it right… double bonus.

3. Front Rise: This is kind of a sneaky one. After all, they are fairly short shorts… but for women like me who don’t mind a little lack of length – but can’t do super low cut – these are going to be a rockstar pair.

As with virtually everything Ksubi makes, be sure to size up. Since Atrium is the only place selling these babies as of right now (they’re going for $122… a bit costly, but Ksubi is on the premium end of the scale), you’ll have to go try them on anyways when you’re in NYC or Miami.

What do you think about these… would you wear them, or are you going to pass? I’d definitely rock them, styled with an oversized shirt and my favorite black, knotted flats… but man, they’d look good over a cute bikini at the beach.
