Every now and then, a brand requests a review on Denim Debutante that I can’t fulfill. Sometimes I’m just too busy, and other times, the brand doesn’t make their jeans in my size. The latter (well, let’s be honest… it was a mixture of both) was the case for Miraclebody jeans. Since we’re all about giving you accuracy over anything else, I’ve been lucky enough to enlist the help of some amazing women to take on the task of getting a pair of jeans to review.
Now, before you get too huffy about not getting free jeans, there’s a ton of work that goes into stuff like this. Kristy had to wear the jeans for 24 hours to determine how they’d fit on her, what her likes and dislikes were… and then, write it up for me. On a deadline.
What do you get out of this? More information about an amazing brand! Big thanks to Kristy for her help reviewing the Miraclebody jeans.
I have a really round midsection. I always have, but when I was younger and skinnier it wasn’t too difficult to find clothes. Now I’m a size 12 and my belly has become a force to be reckoned with: it requires precise tailoring, specific cuts and styles and stiffer fabrics to avoid the Alfred Hitchcock effect.
When Jaime heard about Miraclebody jeans (lose 10 lbs in 10 seconds!) she knew I’d be the perfect person to assess the claims. My waist is the largest and most unruly part of my body. Low rises that fit my hips leave me spilling out and even high rises can be too tight or leave me with a baggy crotch area.
First things first: MiracleBody jeans are soft. The seams were gentle and did not irritate my eczema prone thighs, which happens with cheaper fabrics. They are a medium weight, but very breathable – I’ve been comfortable in them in the past week and the weather has ranged from 50-80 degrees. I received a pair of the Katie straight legs. They have a high rise that came up to my belly button (I’m about 5’6″).
I never felt self conscious about my waistline while wearing these. I can’t remember the last time I felt that way, unconcerned about how my pants were fitting my waist. The softness of the fabric is perfect: my previous pairs of waist-nipping jeans had such tight panels that they would dig into your skin. MiracleBody shapes your waist without the suffocating feeling of Spanx.
