Let’s face it: we don’t all treat our jeans the way we should. We wear long inseams with flats, yank at the belt loops when we’ve eaten a little too much, or – my perennial issue – we’ve spilled and stained them in ways that a standard wash just won’t take care of (oh, and PS? We know they’re bad. We know it’s wrong… and yet, we do it anyways.
There are a couple not-so-secret tips and tricks that help you when common sense fails. Here is your first:
1. Leave your laziness at the door.
Okay, so this isn’t really a tip… or even a trick, for that matter. And it is something that I’m chronically guilty of breaking. Sometimes, you just feel like wearing that one pair of jeans but can’t bring yourself to throw on the right shoes.
Listen, if you want to destroy a great pair of jeans, go for it. They’re your jeans, after all! But, if you want them to last, you need to either a) ditch the laziness and pair with the right footwear or b) get some hem tape or hem snaps.
