Lookbook: Rockstar Sushi Spring/Summer 2010 (Part 1)

by Jaime on February 6, 2010

Love your denim with a little rock ‘n’ roll style? You’ll love Rockstar Sushi! Here’s a little background:

Frank Mechaly, the premium denim maestro behind Blue Cult and 575 Denim returns to Project this year with his strongest proposition yet, ROCKSTAR SUSHI, a high–end denim collection for men and women.

With Rockstar, Frank Mechaly has taken high-end fashion jeans to a whole new level that is considered to be unmatched by any other brand currently in the market. Rockstar is a reflection of classic and modern influences, nearly twenty years in the making that Mechaly has crafted into his own signature The collection itself comes from Frank’s vision to change the modern perception of the premium denim stereotype. He is introducing the four-pocket-jean and presenting the ‘Biker style’ as his signature body in the collection. In addition, there is zippering on the back pockets of most pieces, creating an overall ‘different’ look to the premium jean.

In the initial launch there are seven fits for women and five for men in various washes including grey, brown, coated black and tie dye with the most anticipated styles for women at Project being the ‘Biker’, the ‘3-zipper’ and the ‘Boyfriend.’

In addition to traditional detailing such as distressing and grinding, Mechaly has added plastic buttons and a ‘US Flag’ lining to all of the pockets as well as the zippering on the back and coin pockets. The signature ‘Biker’ has quilted knees and some with zippers on the bottoms and the boyfriend ships with Overall the key word in Mechaly’s innovative collection is ‘different’. “You can walk into all the top department stores and all you will find is the same thing – perhaps this may not be the economy to start a new denim line, but there is still a premium denim customer out there and they want some thing different! The 5-pocket jean is dead! People don’t want to spend their money on yet another pair of 5-pocket jeans. Their closets are already full of them.” This is not just a denim line but an exclusive, high-end fashion forward collection” states Mechaly

The best part about these jeans, other than the fresh-and-funky look? They all retail for less than $150. Check them out, tell me your favorite… and guess which one you think I like best, and stay tuned for part two!
