Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend. I’ve been falling behind on life and I tried to catch up a little bit. Granted, I was fairly unsuccessful, but C. and I did take a TON of pictures of jeans that I’ve received (both from companies and that I’ve purchased…. yes, I still buy jeans sometimes!), so you’ll be seeing a lot of those come up in the next few weeks.
And, for those of you who feel like giving some love to your favorite Denim Debutante, I would really, REALLY appreciate your vote for the G-Star Raw NYFW promotion. They’ll be sending one person to New York Fashion Week, and I’d love to be that person! Please click here and vote (you can use as many email addresses as you’d like and vote with each one again every 24 hours!) and make sure to verify your vote in your email, otherwise it doesn’t count!
As for a little bit of denim-y goodness, I really wanted to show you guys the discrepancies in denim sizing, and really remind you that while it’s not easy to find the right pair, you can do it. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are two pairs of jeans I own:
They look like two totally different sizes, right? Well, here’s the catch: they’re both a size 26. The khaki-colored Elsom jeans run small, while the light washed Russh Mode jeans run large. I love both pairs, but this just shows you that you can’t always trust the numbers you see on the tag.
So, don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get your sizing right on the first try… as you can tell, it changes pretty drastically from brand to brand.
In other news, one of my good friends, Ann James, is doing something totally fabulous on her blog: she’s offering to donate $250 of HER OWN MONEY, $1 for every comment on this post, to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Whether you’re a man or a woman, young or old, Breast Cancer has affected you in some way. Go head over to her page now and leave a comment, because every little bit makes a difference.
So, make sure to drop back in tomorrow and enter the giveaway (and please let me know if you vote for me for the G-Star Promotion, I’ll find a way to thank each and every one of you!), and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
