Farewell, 2009.

by Jaime on December 31, 2009

I kind of can’t believe this year is coming to an end. It’s positively been a whirlwind of excitement, adventure, heartache and discovery.

For those of you who don’t know, DenimDebutante.com came into existence in June of this year, changing my life (and hopefully affecting yours a little bit, too). From the Wall Street Journal article where I was interviewed to the little Glamour.com feature and all the way through the end of the year to the amazing Womens Wear Daily article (where many of you came to find this site) and the very recent Indie Style Media calendar, it’s been a year to remember.

Sure, there were some low points (well, I did spend like three months without a job!), but I expect 2010 to be even more amazing… and so does everyone else. I asked this question on Twitter: “What denim trend would you like to see in 2010?” and here are some of my favorite responses (please feel free to share yours in the comment section!):

Hanako: “keep the denim leggings coming!!! i love skinny ankle length denim too, especially in dark washes!”

Denimology: “More flares! I’m a sucker for them. And a slightly higher rise in style would be great for those of us who are hippy.”

Paula: “The slim low rise Bell Bottom seventies jeans.”

Kristin (GatorGrrl): “I’ve always been a lover of the denim trouser!”

Anthony (HeartStarBolt): “I don’t know why but I love the way acid wash looks so I hope that comes back.”

Bacardi_Queen: “Not a trend, but a rule: No more muffin top! Its sad when a woman’s muffin top is bigger than her bosom!”

I’m looking forward to sharing another positively amazing year with you. Things may have been crazy, but each moment has brought us to wear we are today (even if where we are isn’t where we expected to be). And, in the end, that’s what really matters.

Happy New Year!

Love,
JP
