Sample Sale Alert: Citizen Blues Format Change

by Jaime on October 6, 2009

I’m not particularly sure how I feel about this… I like the DOD (Deal of the Day) format and changing it has proved disastrous for other companies. It’s hard to keep up with and even harder to keep a fresh flow of merchandise… you need at least three days worth of different items (and that’s the bare minimum… it should be more like 5-6).

But, that’s not to say I won’t check it out!

Here’s the email from Citizen Blues:

Hey all,

Starting Tuesday Oct. 6th, we will be listing one item every hour. This means, for all of you math wizards, 24 different styles a day. There will be 24 different styles 365 days a year from tomorrow forward.

We also will be listing over 100 new styles. Included will be True Religion, Rock and Republic, Current Elliot [sic] and many more.

Keep spreading the word about the site. The more people buy, the more often new items will be listed.

I’ve actually emailed them about correcting their spelling of Current/Elliott (you’re a denim company, you should know better!) but to no avail. Also, if you’re doing hour long sales, put a damn timer up! And don’t get me started on grammatical errors that I’ve seen in their descriptions.

What do you think? Are you going to head to CB every hour, or is that just too much?
