Let me start with this: I’m impressed. I don’t know what I expected to get when these showed up at my door, but what I got was so much better than I had hoped for.
DL1961 is a newer brand that specializes in extreme fits… not extreme trends. Here’s a little info:
Can a pair of jeans project confidence, be trendy and sexy, yet flatter every body? The answer is found with DL1961 – a premium denim company based in New York that is redefining what it means to have the perfect pair of jeans.
Made using patented cross-weave technology XFIT denim that stretches in both warp and weft, moves 360 Degrees, gives superior shape retention, custom fit and comfort, independent of your body type. DL1961 jeans will not Sag, Bag, or Lose Shape.
At Last, The Perfect Fitting Jeans For Everyone!
The brand is popular with celebrities such as Halle Berry, Blake Lively, January Jones and Rose McGowan.
DL1961 jeans are available at Bloomingdale’s, National Jean Company, E-Street Denim, Dr. Mojoe, and many other fine specialty stores.
I hate it when denim brands claim that they have jeans that keep their shape but don’t follow through (as this is something that tends to be the case of a lot of lines these days), but DL1961 actually delivers. I’ve worn these twice thus far and they are still as snug and flattering as they were the first time I tried them on… emphasis on the flattering part. I know I have an unorthodox figure, but these jeans can look good on pretty much any figure known to man. Plus, the pair I snagged (the Slim Straight Kate) is a skinny-esque style that’s figure-flattering even for those of you who complain about being unable to wear skinny jeans.
(Excuse the weird shading on theses shots. The most color-accurate? The third.)
And, in the most surprising of feats… they passed the boyfriend test. NOTHING passes the boyfriend test; I think he likes maybe three pairs of jeans I own (the Paige Bel Air in Black Sea, Kasil Devious in Tristan and my Black Diesel Cuddys) so hey, that’s a big step. The two times I wore them (at work and out to the bar), I got a huge amount of compliments… and people are usually too busy staring at my chest to notice my jeans.
As design goes, they’re simple and basic (similar to J Brand) without any of the flashy additions. While some jeans get by with insane stitching, crystals and/or weird, “innovative” cuts, DL1961 are traditional jeans with that X factor: they lift your butt, slim out your thighs and lengthen your legs. There’s only one part I dislike, and that’s the two-colored stitching. They could’ve rocked it all with one. But even with that, these jeans ooze sex appeal while still being obscenely comfortable. You can’t beat that.
So, great job, DL1961. I want more, more, more.
