Denim on the Runway: Resort 2010 (Part Two)
Rag & Bone: Ahh, my ever beloved. I swear, their ability to make an easy-to-wear but still gorgeous and glamorous pair of jeans sets my heart afire every time. And seeing anything they put on the runway? Oh, I’d give anything and everything to pretty much own it all. This outfit is no exception. Simple, casual and perfect. These jeans are calling my name… and the rest of the collection is perfection as well.
Yigal Azrouel: I didn’t really expect the turban look to seriously come back and hit the runway, but with a simple outfit like this, I don’t hate it. In fact, I’m pretty sure I would wear this from head to toe (especially to toe, more of the shoes for Resort are looking stellar than I expected!) Great tailored ankle skinny, great color, love the front seam. It all looks great on Lyoka Tygenereva and I think it would translate really well into everyday life (okay, maybe not the turban…).
Basso & Brooke: I don’t know much about this designing team (though looking back at their previous seasons is absolutely awe-inspiring, and I’m pretty sure I’d cry if I could get a hold of this dress from Resort 2010) but the jacket is fabulously well-tailored… it’s kind of like one of those pieces that you’re not sure you like, but you can’t stop ogling it. The jeans, however, are perfect. Great fit, LOVE the zippered ankles. Can’t get enough, and I wish I had these in my closet.
Lanvin: Great structured jackets, interesting takes on denim… this is pretty much what Christopher Decarnin has proved he can do. This outfit is no different (though I’m not loving the shoes, personally), with lots of studding, lots of flare and lots of blue/gray. It’s fabulous, albeit not very street wearable altogether. I’m pretty sure I’d wear the life out of that jacket though.
