Tie-Dye Jeans are everywhere right now, and they’re on everyone’s must-have list for denim buys this season.
And, I’ve got to be honest, I’m not a huge fan. But, there are ways that you can try these out without looking over-trendy (unless, of course, you like jeans you can only wear for a single season, or you have the income to just arbitrarily buy a bunch of new jeans every few months).
One of the ways you can try this trend is with the increasingly popular cloudy wash style (seen here). A cloudy wash is less in-your-face, but still has the look of a fashion forward style that everyone craves.
Wear them fitted. This is a perfect way to try out the Body-Con style of denim, because the jeans that genuinely look best tie-dyed are snug. Balmain’s skinny (seen below) is a perfect example of this.
While these are the motorcycle style as well (the Balmain Tie-Dye Padded Knee), the fit themselves works best.
And, don’t pull a Fergie. The really vibrant blues are hardest to wear tie-dyed. The grays? Great. Light blue? Sure, that works too. But the dark blue?
Well, it’s your call. I personally think she actually did a great job accessorizing it, keeping the extras minimal and really made it look good. But the jeans themselves really didn’t do her any favors.
With that being said… follow the accessorizing she’s doing. You want the tie-dyed jeans to be the center of your ensemble. They’re different, they’re vibrant… a white button-down, some basic heels and simple jewelry are all you need to complete your outfit.
And, send me photos! Have you tried this trend? Would you like to see a DIY of me tie-dying a pair of denim? Let me know… it might be something to try.
