I truly love Ever Denim. There is that shitty part about how it never goes on sale below $100, and that drives me up a wall because it means that the only pair I can have is the one I already own (a great snag when one of my favorite staple stores, Active Endeavors in Chicago/Evanston, went out of business. It’s how I got the infamous Helmut Lang dress as well), an amazing pair of high-waisted super flares… which you might get a picture of at some point in the future.
For Jason Bleich, creative director of Ever, quality comes first and comfort is a close second. Each Ever garment is made from the best fabrics and materials and cut and finished to feel like your favorite vintage piece. Inspired by travel, Ever’s graphics bring an international edge to the clothes, and each piece is named after a different city around the world. Since its inception in 2003, Ever has collected celebrity fans such as Sienna Miller and Avril Lavigne.
And, while I don’t give a crap what Avril Lavigne wears, I do give a crap about Ever. As an altogether brand, they just… work. And my jeans, in particular, feel like I’m wearing sweatpants (and yes, I did just put them on again to verify… I’m a sucker, so what?) that look ten times as good and feel even better.
Fit: They run true to size, as in, if you wear a pair of Blue Cults (or, I suppose for the sake of argument, I can use something more mainstream and go for, say, 7fAM) in a size 28, these you’d want in a 28 as well.
Overall, these are a pair of jeans that, if you have the money, you should snag. They don’t have that same celebrity factor as Current/Elliotts, or the same name as Earnest Sewns do, but they are, most definitely, worth noting.
And they deserve much more press than they get.
